Settle in and explore nearby restaurants or relax at the hotel before meeting your tour leader and fellow travelers at 5 PM for a welcome briefing. We start early with a scenic drive and breakfast stop en route to Tortuguero, a lush region accessible only by boat or air. A serene boat transfer takes us through a network of tranquil canals to our jungle lodge. In the afternoon, we explore the colorful village of Tortuguero and visit the Sea Turtle Museum. Between July and October, you may opt to witness green turtles nesting on the beach.

Today begins with an early boat tour through Tortuguero’s canals, one of the best times for wildlife viewing.
